Baby Dudley

When Dumbledore states the idea that Dudley was as abused as Harry was it took me a moment to process this. As a Parent I feel that this is a very important thing to keep in mind while raising kids. Giving in to your kids every whim may seem like a way of showing your love for them, but it is clear that making your kids happy is important but giving them the ability to make themselves happy is more important.
Similar to Petunia I really felt like Dudley was the most obnoxious characters ever. But in the seventh book Dudley says “I don’t think you’re a waste of space.” This (while sounding like a backhanded complement) shows huge growth in the character. His experience with the dememntors obviously changed his perception of Harry and magic. I would have loved to have seen this moment in the movies. Here is my take on little baby duders!
